  • Problem starting game with copied cd or virtual drive

I followed the instructions in the daemon tools help under usage to the letter, I used blindwrite to copy the cdrom and alcohol52% to make the .mds files, I mounted them but all I get is an error, Doom 3 has encountered an error and must close. However I used to get an alert that said (Doom has detected cd/dvd emulation software, you must disable and restart doom). I uninstalled the game and reinstalled according to the instructions in Daemon Tools Help under usage. I made sure emulation safedisk was on, reinstalled the game and made a copy of the cd, (with blindwrite), then created my mounting files all without removing the original cdrom. But I still get encountered error. Can anyone tell me whatsup.

Disable safedisc emulation and it should work (no doom3.exe has encountered an error ... anymore).

        Fixed it

As it turns out, activision had a patch to correct cd/dvd emulation problems.
