Command and Conquer works sometimes does not work sometimes

I have a .mds / mdf file created from the original CNC3 tiberium edition DVD using alcohol with all the specified options

I have the drive letter I: for the emulation

Here are the steps I usually do

1. Disable the DVD ROM
2. Start Daemon tools and Emulation --> all options ON
3. Mount the image CNC3.mds
4. Start NERO drive speed and set the speed of the drive I: to 1X
5. Start YASU.exe Y.A.S.U v1.4.7080

Then I click on the "Play Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars" desktop icon.

It works but only sometimes

One day it will work and the next day when I follow the same steps as above I get the error " Please insert the original disc instead of a backup (1000)"

On an average out of 10 times.. 3 times Im able to play the game but 7 times I get the same error " Please insert the original disc instead of a backup (1000)"

Any help will be deeply appreciated

Some more details

1) My computer has AMD athlon
2) I installed the 1.06 patch of CNC3
3) I have AVG anti virus and I disable it always when I play CNC3

again the most baffling thing is it works sometimes and it does not work sometimes

I think, your image is halfbad that means it works only sometimes. Try recreating it.

Forgive my ignorance. but is it possible that the image can be 50% bad ?

If the image is bad shouldn't CNC3 not work at all, all the time ?

But here it works sometimes but does not work sometimes, leading me to believe that the order of things may be a problem ? Maybe Im missing a restart step in between etc ?

The image can be bad, but still work sometimes.
