Hi,
I am completely new to this so please bear with me and my newbie questions. I was directed to this software to solve a problem we have encountered with our Diablo game.
First I want to say we recently purchased the Diablo box set, so we have fully paid for and own this software. My wife and I are both playing Diablo 1, her on her Mac laptop and myself on my PC. We have run into a problem that I have never encountered before, we need to keep the cd in the drive spinning away the whole time we play the game. So we cannot both play the game at the same time, and she can't take the game and play it on her 2 hour commute to work if I want to play it at home.
Also, all the games I have played before allow you to take the cd out once it has been checked to make sure you own it, examples of these games are Civ 2 and Civ3, MOO2, HOMM4. I also don't like the idea of my cd drive just spinning away, I don't want to burn it out.
So, I need a way to fool the game into thinking the cd is in the drive, is this possible? Is this also possible to do on her Mac laptop with this software? Also is it possible to make an exact copy of the game so my wife can take it with her on her commute if she can't set up a way on her Mac to avoid having her drive spinning all the time?
I have downloaded the program but really don't get it at all what I need to do. If someone could explain the basics, and what additional software I may need, if any, it would be much appreciated. If you could point to me to any FAQ's for absolute beginners that would be great too.
Finally, I have one other question a little similar, but possibly not what this software does. Is there a way to copy dvd's that we own. Our kids are hard on their dvds and we keep having to replace their movies as the dvds get scratched and won't play. We used to be able to record copies of them to play with when they were on vhs, and make anew copy from the master tape once they ruined them. However now that we have got rid of all the vcr's we are finding that we are spending a fair bit of money replacing dvds for them instead if enlarging their movie library. I would think since we already own these items we shouuld be able to back them up.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers, Mark
