Copy protections have blacklists, lists of programs that may not be installed on the machine. If one of those programs is found, the game will not run.
Daemon Tools hasn't been updated in a long time due to the development of DTv4 that was rewritten from scratch, so the last version is blacklisted by most current copy protections. However, those mentioned tools can block the blacklist so a game will run although DT is installed."I was inappropriately blunt, wasn't I? Sorry, I do that a lot."

Now, we have SR7 Stop and SD4 Hide, 2 tools which allow us to work with those 2 protections using DT V3.47 or Alcohol 120% with not problems at all. If you would have released DT V4 on time, it would have been revolutionary, but now, it just looks like you combined everything into one software, which is more convinient, but not something to really expect to.
So my point/question is: How does DT V4 will differentiate from those combinations that I mentioned before besides combining it?
The truth is: with enough dedication, you still are able to run
most games with V3.47 - of course only in combination with
the above mentioned tools.
But it doesn't fix the mechanisms basically and it is only a
matter of time, when protections close the gaps that those
mentioned tools use to fool the protection.
On the other hand, V4 is not only rewritten, it also is a new
"mechanic" behind it.

But how is DT4 gonna fool this then? Must you rewrite the code all the time, so the protection can't find it?Click here to visit my website.]

DTv4 has a fully new code.
There's no identical code between DT 3.47 and DT 4.
