Have you tried it with sfcure and sfn or disconnecting the cd/dvd drives from your pc. The method is described in many SCCT threads (splinter Cell Chaos Theory).

Really Need HELP Nikos, BADDLY!!!!

I have tried most of the tricks to get SCCT, Worms 4 and others working but to no avail, I could really use your advice.
I just recently bought a USB drive Nikos to try and run these games but as I said I've had no luck. I must be doing something wrong but I don't know what it is?
Could you explain step by step how you get this game going. Or just the process of the USB trick so I can try it on my other SF games as well, I have no idea what we'll do if DT4 doesn't come out soon.
I threw out an old DVD drive a couple of weeks ago and forgot check the tray, (stupidly) and realized later that I'd also thrown out V8 Supercars with it, (DTM Race Driver 2) I think it is in Europe, anyway I was Pissed to say the least, if I didn't have to use the original to play it, it wouldn't have happened. Obviously!!!, Anyway Nikos I could really use your help!
Thanks for any help in advance.

what about that it will save you money for no longer having to burn discs ? and from now on we assume dvd and even dvd-dl in most cases
i never understood why so many people prefer burned discs to using images ? (genuine people)
an image installs and loads faster, you put no strain on your real cd drive, it's as quiet as your hdd which means many times quiter then ANY cd drive. (hdd space is not an issue any more, even for the image WITH the installed portion of the game, not really!)
and time too, even with faster speeds of dvd drives (which i don't personally use) it can takes 10 minutes with the preparation etc, so why bother ?
i ask this genuine question of anyone ?
=============================
Can you give one genuine reason why a burned disc would be better then a working image ?

i even said that was not a valid excuse these days. in most countries a 250gb hdd that one can add only as a storage for images costs aroun$US100...
they are up to 500gb now.... i can get 500gb for a buck a gig!!! not too shabby.
also may i point another major flaw in your argument ?
the number of games in question. most normal people do not play (actually play) more then about 3-5 games at any ONE time. so even a 60-80gb hdd would sufice, including the o/s drivers etc, and even a few gig of porn....
i usually have 2-5 demos installed and 3-4 full games that i play in order, and once finished uninstall it EVEN thou i have the room....
try again, because i'd REALLY like to know, i can not find one genuine reason!!
NEXT ?!?!?!!?!??!Last edited by ß; 14.11.2005, 19:03.

only reason I could think of in preferring the genuine CD/DVD over an image is to not have to deal with working with fixes, mini/full images ect..
Other than that, I much rather use an image, faster, no worries about CD/DVD's getting scratched, no wear and tear on my drive when I play a game for 12+ hours when I do not have to work.
Besides that, I have Worms 4 Mayhem working, using registry tricks (deny read) and Sr7 Stop. No, you cannot have my signature, unless you pay me. I am famous you know.

average user and disk space
fyi: ß, the average computer game user has 20GB free and 80GB total disk space.Last edited by Underheaven; 16.11.2005, 02:47.the modern world:

B, the argument you're making for hard drives doesn't really make sense. Sure it's less than a dollar per gig, but when I can get a stack of 100 DVDs now for just over 20 bucks, that's 470GB worth of backs for practically nothing. CDs/DVDs are cheap, so it makes more sense to put them on to them. I've got 2x250GB HDD and I still slap whatever I can on to DVDs because I have other media that takes up space like my music, movies, etc...
Also another reason why DVDs/CDs are better because they're a lot more portable than your average HDD. It's a lot easier to eject a DVD and bring it to a friends house then it is to shutdown my computer, open the case, take out the HDD and bring it on over and repeat again.
