  • Mount bug (downloaded image, though probably unrelated to problem)

Hi, I have been reading through the posts here, but i can't seem to find any posts with my problem. The strange thing is that i'm not the only one with that problem. Some of my real life friends have the same problem, so now I/we hope that you guys can explain what it is. Here is the problem.

For a long time i've been using DT 3.47, I think that DT is the best virtual drive software ever made, so thanks a lot for that I have many image files, most of them are CloneCD rips and works fine with DT 3.47 Now i installed the new DT 4.06 and after i reboot, the stranges thing happen. When i want to mount an image, i can see that the image is mounted in DT, but when i go to My computer I can't see it there, and i can't right click the virtual drive. Also, it doesn't start up the image at all, eventhough i have check autostart in the options.

As i said a few of my real life friends have the same problem. So any idea what to do?

Hope you guys can help me, cuz i would really like to use the new DT =)

Ensure Auto Insert Notification is active.
    Also check this thread:

And not that autostart in Daemon Tools options does NOT mean autorun/-play feature of OS, but the autostart of Daemon Tools tray application only.

okay, i check all the things you said and they are all as they should be. Automount is on. And cdrom.sys, storprop.dll and redbook.sys are all there on the CD rom/DVD drive.

However when i open my Device Manager and right click on CD rom/DVD devices it looks like this:

      TK3664F VGL944F SCSI CdRom Device

is that correct or? it doesn't sany anything about virtual drives, only DVD-/CD-rom devices

That is correct. The virtual drives are detected as SCSI.
        The names are randomly generated.
You can change the vendor, model and revision if you like ( DT Tray Icon -> Virtual CD/DVD Rom -> Device X ->Set Device Parameters.

Hmm.. when i used DT 3.47 in the device manager it showed:

          Generic DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device

But doesn't do that anymore it shows that tk thingy i posted. Nevertheless it still doesn't work. I can mount the image and i can see it in DT but in my computer it just shows:

DVD-ROM and a picture of a disc. But when i click on it (left or right) the computer freeze up and all i can do is goto the task manager and end my computer there, and reload the explorer.

As long as i have this bug, i can't install or play games from DT. So someone please help

Update your SPTD driver. I don't know if that has something to do with your problem but you should do it anyway.

I tried updating the Sptd-driver, but still no sucess. Damn, the reason i really need the new DT is that i have downloaded the new Star Wars Empire at war forces of corruption, and i have seen a lot of threads saying that it works with the new DT and the PROCLYN tool. So i wanted to try that, Cause it doesn't work with the DT 3.47. So if anyone have an idea or got it to work on DT 3.47 please tell me how
