    I am using:

windows 7 home premium and DT lite
I too am getting this same error with Deamon Tools Lite the new one you have posted for download, also I can't get past the installing SPDT part on the Advanced, Standard or anything else.
I'm about to give up totally on Daemon Tools since no matter what I do it's the same thing eather endless reboots after installing SPDT or the error about windows 2000 disable kernal debbuger.

      1. Uninstall DT.
      2. Download SPTD 1.62 setup file from DuplexSecure - Downloads.
      3. Uninstall SPTD via setup file.
      4. Reboot PC.
      5. Disable ALL security software.
      6. Install SPTD.
      7. Install DT.

done this all of it 3 times....and still the same thing. I have been reading this forum for about 3 months now trying to get Deamon Tools to work on this system and been running Windows 7 since the last alpha version back almost a year ago.

          @DaemonCantor
Did you upgrade from a previous OS to Win 7?

no, this is a fresh copy but I had the same problem with the RTM version I had and it was an upgrade from Vista Ultimate x64, also I couldn't get Deamon tools to install on Vista eather. The last OS I could get Daemon Tools to load and work on was XP.

            System Specs are:
            Asus A8N-SLI Premium.
AMD Athalon 3400 939 pin 1 meg lvl 2 cache.
            2gig PC400 Coarseair memeory.
            2 500gig Seagate SATA II in a Raid 0
            Pioneer D850 DVDR.

As you can see Hardware isn't the problem

OS is Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Retail
            AV is Avast
            Major software
            Microsoft Office 10 beta
            Microsoft Visual Studio 8 Pro
            MySQL 5.1 Enterprize
            and Games.

Did you try to delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\SPTD register key manually?

                Hello,

After 20 reboots trying to install/uninstall/reinstall DT Lite + SPTD, I found a way to run DT Lite on my PC.

Maybe this can help. This worked for me on Win7 Pro 64 bits (clean install) :

                - install DT Pro Edition DAEMONToolsPro4350306.exe (SPTD 1.60)
                - reboot
                - upgrade SPTD 1.62 (SPTDinst-v162-x64.exe)
                - install DT Lite over DT Pro DTLite4355-0068.exe (it will actually uninstall DT Pro)
                - don't reboot
                - install DT Lite again (it will finally install DT Lite).

I have a nice BD drive working now.
